Ashwagandha: An Ancient Herb with Modern Benefits
Ashwagandha, often referred to as Indian ginseng, is a revered adaptogenic herbs used in Ayurveda for centuries. Known for its ability to enhance both mental and physical well-being, Ashwagandha helps regulate cortisol (the stress hormone), reduce anxiety, improve sleep quality, and support overall hormonal balance. It’s particularly valued for boosting strength, energy, and resilience to stress.

This herb offers a wide range of health benefits including reduced stress and fatigue, improved memory and focus, enhanced immunity, and better thyroid and reproductive health. It may also support testosterone levels and improve exercise performance and recovery. Doses for general wellness, 300–600 mg per day of standardized extract is effective. For targeted therapeutic use, doses may go up to 1000 mg twice daily in divided doses. Traditional powdered root form can be taken at 3–6 grams daily, ideally mixed with warm water or milk.

How long does Ashwagandha take to show result ?

Most people begin to notice the general effects of Ashwagandha within 2 to 4 weeks, with its benefits continuing to improve over a period of 6 to 10 weeks. Stress reduction and better sleep quality are often reported as early as 7 to 14 days of consistent use. Additionally, an 8-week study found that Ashwagandha supplementation led to significant improvements in muscle mass and strength.
